Moving to Switzerland - a Journal Entry

August 10, 2016

Wow so this is happening. I just moved to Switzerland! I am not freaking out. Ok maybe I am just a bit. SWITZERLAND! I feel ummm all over the place. I am excited, I am nervous, I want to scream, I want to laugh, I want to cry. I definitely do not feel silent. Nothing in my body is still. Breathe Hannah, this will all feel normal to you soon. Eeeek but right now it is a lot.

Ok I had to take 10 to chill out a bit. I am sooo thrilled to be here!! It has not even been 24 hours and I am already having a fantastic time. My host family is so sweet. They picked me up at the airport and they made this cute sign welcoming me to Switz. We sat down at this cafe and my host mom got me to try this swiss pop, Rivella. She said it's made from some sort of milk something... I can't remember but it's carbonated and kinda weird. The only reason I know that the Rivella has something to do with milk is because she said Milch which I learned on Duolingo but that's the only word I understood lol.

My host mom is so cute her name is Doris. We have been speaking mostly french because my german sucks. My host dad is also really sweet. I can't really understand him yet cause ugh german but I can tell that he's a jokester. Larissa and Livia are my new sistas from anotha mista and they both seem really nice. Livia is leaving for Canada soon on her exchange so I have moved into her room. She seems to be a lot more calm about moving away than I was or continue to be because I still feel like I am going to burst out of my skin. Ahhhh I can't believe I am really here. I have a host brother also but I haven't met him yet. I think he might be out working in the barn. They live on a big pig farm and Daniel said they have approximately 2,000 pigs. We were talking about it in the car ride from the airport I was like wow ok cool I am going to be living with a lot of pigs. Well it wasn't until we got to the house and I opened the car door that I realized what living with 2,000 pigs smelt like. It's so smelly like the smelliest smell I have ever smelt. But I went to go and see some of the ones just behind the house and they are soooo cute so although my burning nostrils may disagree, I love the not so little piggies.

Anyways I have a lot of unpacking to do and then I think we are going to someones birthday party so I gtg. I love youuu and I am sooo happy for youuu. Let's make the most of this year in SWITZERLAND omg I will never get over this.
