FIS Alpine World Ski Championships

I had this amazing opportunity to go to St. Moritz with my host dad to watch the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. We woke up at 2:30a.m. to take a bus. It took us about 5 hours each way so it was quite the journey but what an experience! I used to ski race so this was so exciting for me to watch. I had never been to watch such high level skiing in person before. The course looked so fun it made me miss racing a bit. We lucked out with the weather, the sun was beating down on us all day, I am glad I brought my flashy Canadian bucket hat. The energy levels were high and the crowds were rowdy. Obviously most of the people were cheering for the Swiss racers but there were people from all over the world who had come to watch the races. I brought a big Canadian Flag to support and cheer for my fellow Canadian friends. They didn’t end up placing so well and neither did the Swiss but everyone skied hard and did a great job.
