Zermatt Unplugged

Zermatt Unplugged is this super fun music festival that happens in the village every year. This year was the 10th anniversary for Zermatt Unplugged. It’s basically a week of concerts happening all over the place. There are tons of shows happening in the village and even concerts on the mountain that you have to ski to.

Some of the concerts are free and other require passes. I was able to get passes to go to 3 of the big concerts. Graham Candy, Nelly Furtado and KT Tunstall. I got floor seats to the Nelly Furtado concert for my friend and I thanks to Sean Kelly, Nelly's guitarist. He is friends with my mom and our family friend who had reached out to get the tickets for me. We ended up seated next to Graham Candy, the artist we saw in concert the night before. Sean took us backstage after the concert.

The weather was incredibly nice all weekend. Maybe too nice. Skiing day after day chasing concerts on the mountain under the hot sun got me a little sun silly. I got super sun burnt and may have had a mild case of sun poisoning but you know what, it was worth it. This was my last weekend in Zermatt and it sure was eventful. I am so grateful for the all of the wonderful people I've met and time I have been able to spend here. I will certainly miss being surrounded by these mountains and living in such a cool little community.
